One Ball at a Time. One Soul at a Time. One Diamond at a Time.

Diamonds Don’t Juggle Themselves

I’ve written before about my friend Les, because, frankly, he’s unforgettable. A true original. He’s been at the helm of massive companies, run global operations, and partnered with some of the most fascinating people in the world, from celebrities to CEOs to change-makers. These days, we've been working on several deals together, each with immense potential.
The other day, I asked him how he juggles so many ventures at once.
He smiled and said something he used to teach his students when he was a professor at Pepperdine:
"The secret to juggling seven balls? You only focus on one at a time."
That line stuck with me. I’ve repeated it half a dozen times since. It’s a timeless business principle. Take care of what’s in front of you, then move to the next.
But here’s what makes Les different.
He doesn’t just juggle tasks.
He gives his full, focused attention to the person in front of him.
Not the ball. The soul.
And it hit me: this is exactly how the Lubavitcher Rebbe lived.
He once answered someone who asked how he didn’t get tired meeting thousands of people:
“When you’re counting diamonds, you don’t get tired.”
Each Person. A diamond.
Each Soul. A world.
That’s the business I want to be in.
The business of diamonds. The business of soul. The ecosystem I’m building is not just about technology or deal flow or margin. It’s about building a world where we see people fully, with empathy, joy, and attention. The kind that can’t be faked.
So whether it's a cigar and a laugh on the porch…or a miracle moment on the phone with a friend…or prepping chicken before Shabbos with the next big idea simmering in the back of your mind...
Remember:
Juggle one ball at a time.
Focus on one person at a time.
And see them for what they are
A diamond.
Les, Tzaddik. Wishing you Ollie, Maxi and Pili a Good Shabbos
